Cannot Update my server!

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59
Player Version#:1.39.1.2763-300bb607

My Plex has been locked at this version for months now, and I just cannot update it. I have tried following other advice, uninstalling, reinstalling. When I use the software, it says server update available, it downloads the update, and then just keeps the current version and doesnt apply the update.
Ive tried offline downloading and when I try and install the downloaded Plex Server, it says ‘not a valid installation package for the product’ and it cannot find the previous installation file to use as a part of the update and stalls. I’m kinda tearing my hair out at this stage. Any suggestions about either forcing a fresh install, or forcing a server update? Please advise. Thanks

Thanks for that response, yes, I think it’s related to the package cache being removed, but that windows fix tool hasn’t helped me :frowning: Already tried it…

You can also check the windows updater for any errors: Microsoft KB: Fix Windows Update issues. This is referenced at the bottom of the “Errors trying to upgrade…” support article.

If you’re on Window 10, it takes you to Troubleshoot problems updating Windows.

Under Advanced, see Restore & Repair System Files.

Step 2 of the process is running c:\sfc /scannow. You can run it with /verifyonly instead to check for errors but not make any changes. c:\sfc displays all options.
