Cannot watch live tv recording from start or live clicking both doesn't do anything

Cannot play from start or live since last plex for windows update went thru (Non-HTPC Version) clicking on the buttons “Watch Live or Watch From Start” doesn’t do anything. I don’t know why!

Please fix.

I’ve already update the plex server version to the latest version and the plex for windows app to the latest version (not using the one on the microsoft store) and it keeps happening.

What’s going on here?

Just started having this same issue with Plex running on Mac. Dialogue pops up but I’m unable to click on anything other than to close the window.

It started right after the newest update for the Plex app for windows was installed, I found a workaround for now.
Uninstall it and get an old release of Plex for windows and it worked for me just fine. I scoured google and didn’t find an earlier build so I looked at my server’s archives and found an old version, installed it and woyeah it works now!

They really screwed up.

I have the same issue!

Then I discover there is no way to downgrade to a previous version.

It’s really odd that they release an update for the app and then we get a bug like this which is supposed to fix the bugs not create them!? Woot!

It happens all the time, people make mistakes. Especially when they get in a hurry to fix something and don’t test enough.

My issue is not so much with them causing a problem, but not being able to roll back to the previous working version. That is not professional and leaves paying customers hanging with a faulty/unusable product.

Add that the update is automatic (Users have no choice) and there is no official support channel, and it just compounds things.

A quick work around, download MKVToolNix and remux the recorded Tv file. Add to your normal Tv or movie Library after renaming it correctly. it’s free and does a good job.

I found an old executable file from about 3 months back that I rolled back to without needing to re-install the app just overriding the current up-to-date installation with the older one worked for me. Sorry to hear there is really no website allowing download of old versions but I am very happy to have some outdated archives to apply a temp fix.

There is but can not remember the address

This will work

I’m not running Plex Server on Windows. The problem is with the Windows Plex app.

Thanks for notifying us about this issue. Engineering is investigating.

Appreciate your attention to this malfunction problem with the app.

Bump (5th character rule)

I couldn’t find a post about this, so I created one a couple of days ago. Happy to see a response from Plex. Great to see other people reporting the issues. It is broken in all browsers and the Plex Window players. Still can join in progress if you use, http://serveraddress/web/index.html#!/live-tv, but obviously outside your home you are SOL.

This should be resolved on Plex Desktop 1.77.2: Plex for Mac, Windows, and Linux - #98 by rubenamorim

I can confirm this resolved the issue on my system.

Thanks. The silver lining for me is I learned how to disable auto updates. This way I will have a download archive of different versions.
