Can't access my media on PMS - server is unclaimed

Hi there. My PMS is running on a QNAP NAS and it worked without any issues for several years. Since some month, my PMS displays the message “Media-Server server is unclaimed and not secure”. If I try to claim it, I get a general error toast that there is a login error.

I’ve already read through the posts regarding this topic, but I’ve found no solution which works for me. So any help on this topic is much appreciated.

First step (which makes diagnosis easier)

  1. Create shared folder, named exactly PlexData
    – It will only be a placeholder (no actual data will be there)

  2. Restart PMS

  3. now try to claim it again

  4. Stop PMS

Now open FileStation:

Navigate: PlexData → Plex Media Server

Right-click “Logs” → Compress
