Can't access my plex server, neither the website

Hello Plex Support,

I’m facing an issue with my Plex server running on a Synology NAS. Everything was working fine until recently, but now I can’t access my own server, even though I’m the owner. Strangely, other users on the same Plex account can still access the server without any issues, but I’m completely locked out.

Additionally, I’m unable to access plex.tv directly—it seems to be blocked for me unless I use a VPN. I’ve tried numerous solutions from this forum and other resources online, but nothing has resolved the issue. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Plex on my Synology NAS, but now I’m stuck at the “claim server” stage because I keep getting blocked from reaching plex.tv (I’ve tried multiple devices).

A user on Reddit with a similar issue suggested their IP might have been blocked, and I’m wondering if that could be the case for me as well. The problem seemed to start when I logged into Plex on a new phone and entered the verification code incorrectly at first.

Could you please help me figure this out?

Setup Information:

Plex Server Version: 1.41.0.8992 (latest version)

Server Hardware: Synology NAS

Remote Access: Enabled and working for other users

Users: Other users on the same Plex account can still access the server without any issues

Network: No issues with connectivity; I’m able to access other services without a problem.

Troubleshooting Steps Tried:

• Verified that other users have access to the server (they do).

• Tried claiming the server via the “Claim Server” button, but I get blocked from anything related to plex.tv.

• Ensured remote access is enabled, and the server is running the latest version.

• Signed out of all devices and signed back in—still no change.

• Checked my Synology firewall and confirmed no IP or device is being blocked.

I’d appreciate any help in resolving this issue.

Thank you!

You’ve assigned a domain name to the Syno or Plex without adding the certificate & key internally?

No new certificates or domain names added to the server or the synology. The weird this is that all the existing other users on my account still have access to the servers content, but me as the owner don’t

Did you turn on the HTTPS mode on the Syno desktop (where everything gets pushed to port 5001 ?

If so, that’s not needed when on your LAN

“Connection not private” means it was looking for HTTPS but could only manage HTTP (which is the difference between the setting and 5000 / 5001 )

Hey @ChuckPa , thanks for your help.
I dont remember turning on the HTTPS mode on the synology, althought I flushed the DNS settings on the Synology and something between there and restarting my router looks to have solved it. Working now as it should and the server is claimed again!
Thanks for your help
