Access to server denied in PLEX

Hello people,

Completely new to the world of NAS and Plex but bumping into an issue I can’t seem to fix.

NAS: Synology DS220+
DSM: 7.1

I tried installing the newest version of Plex. Not the one for the package centre. Everything went well, but when I open it, it says: acces denied. You are not allowed acces to this server. (rough translation from Dutch). A friend who helped me buy the NAS said I had to follow some guide where I change the permissions of the folders. Which I did, but it still gives me the same message.
Another weird thing is that I see other people in YouTube video’s having a Plex user on the NAS. It never showed up with me.

Anybody that can help me?

That was for the old DSM. For DSM 7+ the user is named PlexMediaServer

First of all, both your Synology and the workstation you use must be on the same IP Net, as well as that must be in private address space, see:

Or, use a claim token, as mentioned here:

Hi Dane22,

Thanks for your help. I tried to reinstall and use the claim token option. This made the access denied screen not pop up. But now I don’ have an option to add add a library under settings.

Please show the output from:

Also, try and close browser, and then try again
