Can't access Plex locally via ethernet (but works on wifi)?

Hi there, I have a particularly odd scenario going on that I’d appreciate some guidance on because it’s got me stumped.

Currently, I have a smart TV and my plex server on the same network. If I connect my TV to the wifi, then Plex will work locally (i.e. is available as a non remote connection). However, if I connect my TV via ethernet to the LAN, Plex will not work as a local connection, but rather requires it to be a remote connection.

Unfortunately the wifi isn’t strong enough to just keep it on that, and I don’t want to have to use data to use the ethernet.

My network setup is a simple modem -> router -> switch -> devices.

Anyone have any idea why the ethernet may be unavailable as a local connection or how I can get this working? I’d very much appreciate it, thanks.

To be even more specific about the issue, I have two scenarios:

TV on wifi: Plex is accessible via TV web browser at http://<server_ip>:32400

TV on ethernet: Plex is NOT accessible via TV web browser at http://<server_ip>:32400. The Plex app on the TV in this case works, but shows that it is on a remote connection.

And how is your plex server connected to your network?

Realized I never came back to this… the issue ended up resolving itself after a hard reset of my router. Not sure what was going on, but I’m glad it’s over now.
