So I reset my password this morning on my Plex account, and can not access PMS on my Nvidia shield TV. I use the Shield as my server and was wondering what I should do?
I have read the forums on using an NAS and Linux but this is a different setup. I have been using my Shield as the server for nearly a year now with no issues.
If you’re wondering, it has gotten so much better than what it was a couple years ago. I have the 2015 model with the 500gb storage, but am using a 10tb external as my main storage for Plex.
Any help on this would be very appreciated. Otherwise I will have to restart my server and erase my watch history. Thanks
Ok I am going to say this, Plex completely sucks. I have spent over a week combing the forums for a simple response to my situation. Nothing. I Have had my Nvidia Shield for almost 3 years. I do remember in the earlier days that plex was difficult to work with the Shield, but for almost a year it has been great. In fact, the best experience I could ask for. Then, the password change.
You’d think a simple password change would be no biggie. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, heck even Google. Simple stuff, but Plex, no freaking way. Somehow they take a simple security issue and turn it into the biggest load of garbage I have ever dealt with.
I have had to restart my server too many times. I have been locked out so much that at this point it is not worth my time. I am a paid Plex member, but I will let my money go down the toilet and be forgotten so I can leave this all behind.
The Shield is sold as a Plex server for anyone. Which should be a simple process, now its not. I just cant believe a password change completely locked from my own server and my remote server with no hope to ever recover. And the messed up part is that I was able to get over it and just rebuild that was fine, but every time I restart the Shield, the server can not be found. I even factory restarted the shield to get this running and still it persists.
I’m pretty savy with tech and do the best I can, but this product is just too much and the Shield really is meant for something else. I don’t know what else to say. I’m completely overwhelmed.
