I’m using windows 10 home. I downloaded the Plex server and for the past 30 minutes I’ve tried to locate where I would add my movie folder. There isn’t one. I searched the entire app for it and could find nothing. When I go under settings all I see are pre configured options such as what color subtitles will be and so on. So please don’t start by telling me to look under settings because it isn’t there!
I had no choice but to delete the server and now I will look for one that’s easier to understand and use!
I suppose you only just installed the Plex Media Server. In order to complete the setup you’ll need to connect to it “locally” – if you’re on the same machine as your Plex Media Server, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser (http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web if it’s on a different machine in your home network). This should bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server, link it to your Plex account and create your 1st libraries.
Once the Plex Media Server is linked to your Plex account you can also open it from different apps or using the online version of Plex (https://app.plex.tv/desktop).

It’s too bad you hadn’t asked a question before deleting the server.
Reinstall Plex Server and follow the instructions provided. They are very detailed. Ask questions if you run into a problem.
No matter what product you finally decide to use there will be a point where you will be lost. You are going to run out of choices very soon. 
I understand how servers and players work I installed the server on my laptop and the player on my smart tv the issue is that there is no option to add a folder anywhere
Step 3 of the guide I linked above has instructions on how to do that.
Not ONE GOD DAMN THING in that guild shows anything remotely close to what I see when installing the server. There is NO wizard that starts. I’m asked where to install it. THAT’S ALL
Once it’s installed, there is NO option to add folders of any kind.
So as far as I’m concerned, Plex is the biggest piece of ■■■■ out there.

The setup wizard only appears the first time you install PMS. If you’ve installed it in the past, you won’t get the wizard unless you went through the process of clearing out the Windows registry. Since you are new to Plex, I’m guessing you did not do this.
Without the wizard you’ll need to create libraries manually. Creating Libraries | Plex Support
I’m NOT new to the way applications work. I DID clear the registry after deleting this POS app.
