I am new to plex and I just created an account, downloaded the media server, and want to upload my movies library. However, when I click the installed “plex media server” program, it just takes me to the web app and tells me to download plex media server…which I already have…it’s just taking me in circles…what am I missing here?!
BTW I am using Windows 7, if it’s relevant.

The screen shot you posted says to add your media…
Clicking on the get Plex media server is a loop here.
Click the wrench/screwdrive top right (settings)
On the left are all the settings, the Docs at the top of the forum screen has all the help pages, like media naming conventions, very important for a successful installation of you media.
Library click the + to create a new library, this is where you add the root folder for your media that you have created, depending on the type of media. Keep movies separated from TV shows etc…
I’m confused as to what you’re telling me to do in settings?
on the sidebar all the way down under managed is Libraries (yes I said Library, was from memory)
select that, on the main screen add library,
This is where you add your first library…
I’m going to post a G-Photos link to a video I just took showing how I don’t have these options. I’m not sure what’s going on here. But I do appreciate your assistance.

Did you by chance try to setup this same server with a different Plex Account or did you already install/run it under a different Windows account?
