Can't add new movies into movie library

Since few days ago, any new movies I have added into the folder can’t be seen in the library, I have tried to rolled back to PMS public 1.5 version also the plexpass 1.7 version, did not work…also even tried to delete the whole library and re-added it, still could not show the new files/folders I have added.

First I thought it was the Chinese encoding issue so I have renamed the file into English but still not working…

The file in question was “10000 Miles (2016).mp4”, logs attached, can see it was scanned but somehow it just did not want to show up in library.

TVShows library however was working fine tho.

Please do not use ‘verbose’ logging!
Your log file only covers 6 minutes and it shows nothing useful. Because it is spammed with verbose chatter.

My guess however would be “embedded meta data”, since your file is in mp4 format.
It may contain a Title tag which makes Plex think it is just another ‘version’ of another movie that is already in your library.
You need to tell Plex to disregard embedded metadata.

Go to Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
+
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
+
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

Since this appears to be a Linux-powered system, do also verify that the Plex server software has enough file ‘access’ privileges for your new files.
I can’t see whether this runs on a NAS or on desktop Linux.
I advise you to ask how to verify these access privileges in the subfourm for your respective server system https://forums.plex.tv/categories/plex-media-server

Seems like changing the scanner to “Plex Video Files Scanner” and unselected the “Local Media Assets” from all agents fixed the issue.

This will also prevent you from using external subtitle files and poster.jpg.

That’s ok as I never used external subtitles and poster just downloaded automatically from agents.
