Can't add new Truenas Scale storage server to my Plex account

Server Version#: 1.40.3.8555
Player Version#:
I currently have Plex running on PC 1 ( .112 ) and my user account has a Plex pass on it.
I’ve recently installed the Plex app on a new server running Truenas Scale PC 2 ( .119 ). Unfortunately I can’t seem to find how to add this new server to my account. When I open the Truenas Scale Plex app via a web browser on PC 1 ( .119:32401 ), if I scroll to “More” at the bottom of the lefthand options menu, my PC 1 and Nvidia shield devices are listed but NOT the Truenas Scale PC 2 device.

Even more strange, if I log onto my plex account on my phone, the Truenas is listed but a red Offline icon appears next to it.

Can anyone help me understand how to connect this second storage plex device to my user account and allow me to access it?

I am having the same issue. Did you get this figured out?

Same issue here. I installed Plex, I get the screen saying:

This application is at SERVER_NAME and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access.

After logging in, the only server that shows is my existing Plex server. I’m wanting to transfer everything over to this new server, but I can’t even get it to show up.

I figured this out, but it was complete luck (and the fact that I’ve been a web dev for nearly 20 years now).

  1. Go to http://SERVER_ADDRESS:32400/web. 32400 is the default port. Use whatever port you chose in TrueNAS’s app config.
  2. Open DevTools in your browser and look for “Local Storage”. In there you’ll find something called myPlexAccessToken.
  3. Copy that value and go to https://plex.tv/api/claim/token?&X-Plex-Token=MY_PLEX_ACCESS_TOKEN and paste that token where I put MY_PLEX_ACCESS_TOKEN. That will give you a new “claim” on your server:
  4. Then take that claim token and paste it into the app config in TrueNAS:

When you restart your server, it will work!
