Cannot add second server into my PlexPass account

I have been running Plex on my Windows machine for over 10 years. I have never had any issues with anything until now. I just got my TrueNAS server up and running on actual server hardware and I have had nothing but issues getting Plex to run on it. I did finally get it installed after some DHCP setting issues and having to forward ports inside the jail.

My current issue is that I can log into the server from my laptop (192.168.1.10:32400) ok, now it prompts me for my email address to log into my Plex Account. Fine. I log in and it gives me the user interface for my Plex Server on my Windows box. There is NO WHERE THAT I CAN FIND to add a new server to my account. I have followed threads from years ago, but the UI for plex has changed since then. You’d think since I was accessing the new server with it’s own IP address that it would know it was a server. You’d think I could log into my account and point it to the new IP address on my network. Something… I’m about ready to pull my hair out. The fact that my server settings somehow hybridly sp live on the server and on Plex’s website is maddening. Can someone please point me in the right direction here???

In order to finish the setup of your new server you need access the bundled version of Plex Web from within the same subnet.

From what you describe, you’re attempting to do just that and actually get the web app to show. I suspect due to the network setup, Plex doesn’t consider this to be a „true“ local access from within the same local subnet (you mention you had to tinker with DHCP and some port forwarding to even get to access the server, so I consider the jail is establishing its own subnet or a comparable non-bridge network mode).

If you want to keep that network setup, you’ll need to establish the „true local“ connection another way. The most straightforward approach will probably be to do so via a SSH tunnel. Instructions on how to do that can be found at the end of the server installation support article.
Once your server setup is finalized and your server us linked to your Plex account, you should also be able to access the server fine from outside that subnet.
