How do you change the account email?

I logged in, went to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account.
Went to email address → Edit and typed in a new email address. Hit save changes.

Then I log in with the new email: Plex has crated a new account, and my life time subscription is gone. Went back to another computer and the old login is still there. I now have two accounts. Plex is sending the same emails to both accounts.

I contacted billing, a plex support assistant verified that there were two accounts, and told me the newer one was created 4 months ago. This is not true as the new email address (I have just changed internet providers) is only 10 days old, and I tried to change the Plex setting 7 days ago.
He suggested going to a incognito browser and change the new email address to something else. However the incognito bowser tells me unknown username/ password when I try to log in with the new email address.

Billing told me to post my issue on this forum.

Edit 30-12-2023 Apparently four months ago Plex created an account with my Gmail address. I did not do this, why would I ? I have a lifetime pass on the existing account. I deleted the Gmail account. Now I try and change my email address on my existing account it says the new email is already taken. This is a brand new email address. My Internet provider would not have let me choose and existing email address. So now I can’t receive emails from Plex.
