Hey there,
I already created wrote several times in other threads and also in an own thread about this issue, but until now I thought that the issue was on my side. I feel like the issue is on the side of the several Plex Player Apps.
To start off, I have a QNAP NAS hosted at home, which is only available over CGN-IPv4 and (normal) IPv6. I did all the firewall stuff, I did routing, I even have a selfmade dyndns at this point, a IPv4-IPv6 tunnel with 6tunnel, I also entered that plex-side dns-entry into the custom address setting.
Now, when I’m outside of my own LAN, going over the IPv4 tunnel in any Browser works perfectly fine on any device (I tested yet), also my iPad Plex App works perfectly fine, but my Android (Pixel 6) Plex App does not work at all when I’m remote.
I also tried my chromecast, and let test multiple friends of mine their phones, smart tvs, fire sticks and similar. iPads (and I think iPhones) generally do seem to work with the app, my chromecast also works when casting from any device other than my phone (since that itself won’t get a connection), but all other devices tested by friends yet, weren’t able to connect to my server.
As I already said, at this point I believe that there are some flaws in several apps etc from Plex, since it consistently works on Apple devices, doesn’t ever work on Android phones, and always works on the browser.
The common issue seems to be that something about IPv6 routing isn’t correctly done in those apps which won’t work. I would like the plex team to finally at least get the android plex app to work fine with IPv6 aswell, is there something I can assist with?
Greetings,
Raphael
