Plexamp does not connect to remote Plex server with IPv6

plexamp.log (55.4 KB)
Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316
Player Version#: Plexamp 4.5.2.877

I have a DS-lite WAN connection and I’m restricted to port forwarding with IPv6. To enable remote access I activated IPv6 in the network settings and unter “Remote Access” I manually specified the port 32400 and opened this port on my router. I can now access my server using the Plex app on my iPhone and also on my MacBook using a browser with a mobile connection. But I still cannot get Plexamp to connect to my server. In the logs you can see that it doesn’t even try to connect with IPv6. Even if I enter the address https://<ipv6>.<serverid>.plex.direct:32400 as a customer server address in the Plex settings, Plexamp does not even try to send a request to this address. If I enter a different address for testing purposes like https://plex.abc.de:32400 Plexamp tries to connect.
When the phone is in the local network, it can connect without any problems.

I’m currently out of ideas how to make this work.

Thanks and regards,
Tobias

Plex has not provided proper ipv6 support in 2022 yet. Funny isn’t it?

same problem,since plexamp 3.4.0

Just keep asking for proper ipv6 support. Devs can’t ignore it forever.

Same for me. Plex works just fine while plexamp won’t react thru ipv6.
