Server Version#: 1.42.2.10191 (and 1.43.0.10162 Beta)
Player Version#: Nvidia Shield 10.30.4.4092
Somehow I can’t access my Plex Media Server (hosted on an Nvidia Shield) anymore since yesterday. The access worked now for some years but suddenly stopped working. Yesterday I still could still see all shows and movies on my server via the iOS app and the webapp but couldn’t start or download anything. Because of that I first resetted all data of the Media Server app on my Shield but with no luck. So I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it (first offical version then beta version). After reinstalling it I can’t access the server anymore. app.plex.tv always shows me the following error when trying to access it: “app.plex.tv is unable to connect to “SHIELD Android TV” securely”.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app now many times but I can’t get it running anymore. I can’t even configure my media libraries anymore.
I guess this could be related to the latest update of the Media Server (1.42.2.10191) as this update was released 2 days ago (29.09.2025) which would exactly match when my setup stopped working. The strange thing is that this version isn’t even listed in the changelog: Plex Media Server - #692 by PlexReleaser .
Can somebody help me out here? Thanks!
Maybe this issue is related: Unable to connect to Plex server securely - #2 by struchot
Edit: I now tried to downgrade Plex Media Server to v1.42.2.10122 and then to v1.41.8.9834 via App sideloading. But with both versions it shows me “Unable to connect to “SHIELD Android TV” securely.” when accessing it via app.plex.tv.
