I keep getting transcode reason: “Video stream exceeded a max bitrate of 80 000”.
I’ve added my IP address (both the specific one for my TV, and with a netmask that covers all my devices). Treat WAN IP As LAN bandwidth is checked (even though it shouldn’t matter in my case). TV is connected through 5GHz wifi. My internet upload speed is more than capable of 4k streaming (even though I am still on my local network). Remote stream bitrate is set to “Original (No limit)”.
What am I missing? Using the app on my PC allows direct streaming. TV keeps buffering as well, which I can’t make out why. CPU is running at 20-25%, so shouldn’t be bottlenecked by transcoding.
FYI that Samsung TVs have a limit of 80 Mbps for 4K HEVC video and 60 Mbps for H.264 video. If the media exceeds the limit, then Plex Media Server will transcode the video. There is also a limit of 30 total tracks in a file (video + audio + subtitles). If that is exceeded, Plex will remux (direct stream) the file.
