Can't direct play live TV on XBOX one S

Hi, it’s been a while since i played live TV on my XBOX one S, but i recall being able to direct play live tv on it with plex and now it must transcode [on LAN] even with all setting in the server and and player to allow it to direct play, but it won’t.

this occur on every channel :1080i &720p channels.
i tried to copy on a thumb drive the file from 1 episode it did record, it’s a .TS [MPEG-2 transport] codec with 5.1 AC-3 & stereo AC-3. it does play fine with the built-in media player from the XBOX so the hardware is fully able to play it without a problem. And just to be even more weird, it does direct play once the recording is done and it’s not live anymore (there is no transcoding or optimizing after the live) and it direct play

is it just me or plex changed that on us.

i toggle show info on xbox player and it give the following reason:

-Cannot direct play with protocol: hls, codec:mpeg2video. Reason: LiveTV direct play is not allowed
-Cannot direct stream with protocol: dash, codec: mpeg2video. Reason Unsupported container mp4
-Cannot direct stream with protocol: dash, codec: mpeg2video. Reason Live TV stream is not allowed

Is there something wrong with my post… I don’t really know what to add more to have an answer.

@Pilote123 I don’t know why but it doesn’t direct play on any console. Although I’ve been told the console can support it. You most likely won’t get a response on this topic as it’s been brought up multiple times:(.

You also probably get at 3 buffer cycle right after the channel starts which is a real pain.
