For some time now, plex has forced subtitles on certain live tv channels even if the subtitles has been disabled in the app settings. I’ve check with the HDHomeRun stream, and it does not show the subtitles unless you enable the subtitle track.
It seems that Plex is ignoring the subtitle setting and displaying the subtitle track regardless.
Subsequently, the subtitle track seems to make plex buffer a lot. Even if burned subtitles has been disabled. It’s actually unwatchable but only on the Samsung and LG players. Web player and Apple TV app works fine.
I’ve heard that the LG player also displays this exact behaviour regarding the subtitles, but the plex web player and Apple TV does not display this behaviour (I’ve tested it).
