Subtitles on Samsung Plex app not showing automatically

Hi. I am connected to a friend’s Plex library. In his settings, subtitles are auto-enabled. In my Plex app on TV, the subtiles are auto-enabled (“Burn subtitles” set to “Always”, and all subtitle related settings clearly setup. However whenever I start a video I have to still manually enable subtiles. For every video. Why? What do I need to fix so my TV shows subtitles for my friend’s content?

Already done. That’s for the media server, which in my case is more on my friend’s side. His settings are exactly as outlined in that Help page.

My case is of being the viewer of his library. I use a Smart TV app, and in my Settings, subtitles are set to “Always”. They never show automatically. Which Help link can I read for this precise issue?

No. That is for your user account. It should affect all servers, no matter if they are yours or someone else’s.
Which Plex app are you using (what model year is your Samsung)?
Does the auto-activation of subtitles work if you use the web app to play items?
