I’m in the process of adding Music Videos to my library and need to report two bugs:
(1) The “Originally Available” field ignores the MP4 embedded metadata containing the date that the album was published. Instead it inserts today’s date.
(2) When I try to change the date, I receive the error, “Your changes could not be saved.”
This is reproduceable with all of the videos I’m adding. But I can change the date for tv shows and movies just fine.

Thanks TJ that worked. How can I get that field to see the date in the metadata? Is there a particular date field I need to be writing to in MBP?
you mean to the file tags?
no, plex does not write any data to file tags.
And Plex will only read embedded metadata from e.g. mp4/m4v/mov files (if enabled) during the initial scan of the file. Originally Available should refer to the Release Date tag – I’ve been using this on some of my home videos and Plex took the dates over nicely.
That’s the tag I was looking for. I had been writing the date to a different field on the files. I’ll give it a try. Thanks guys!
