When I rip my music files to FLAC using Exact Audio Copy, the metatags for “Year” and “Date Released” will both get populated with “2018” for example. In the Windows Plex Media Player the album will be listed as “2017”. When I click the edit pencil, it will show the “Originally Available” as “2017-12-31”. This pattern happens every time. The “Originally Available” field is locked. I tried changing it to “2018-12-31”. That changed the displayed date temporarily to 2018. Then I did a metadata refresh and PLEX stuck in “1969-12-31”. What is going on? Is there no way to have PLEX just read the metadata in FLAC files and display the year correctly? Do you have to enter an exact month and day for the metadata? This seems broken.
