For some reason, when I now add .MP4 movies to my library on my server, it uploads them with the “Originally Available” date set for whatever date I added them to the library, not the date of the movie’s release. This has only started happening in the last month or so. I’m not sure what setting I need to adjust on that to get Plex to recognize the movie’s actual year.
I have my files named appropriately (ex. “Tommy Boy (1995)” in both the folder’s name, and the name of the .MP4).
I rip the DVD to an .ISO format, and then rip that to an .MP4 format. The .MP4 goes into my server (and the .ISO is saved on a separate hard drive). As soon as the movie is added to the library (immediately as it’s added to the server), it uploads to Plex, but now the year is showing whatever today’s date is. The rest of the metadata looks fine. Anyone know why this is happening, or what I can do to fix it?
