Can't exit video with B button on Shield TV since last update

My Plex app updated on my Nvidia Shield TV recently and now the B button doesn’t exit a video any more. It used to exit the video and take me back to the movie/tv show page. Is there a way to fix this?

Player Version#: 7.26.0.14578

Hmm. That was broken before but should have been fixed with that update. I’ll have to check.

yeah, I’ve been having this issue for a very long time
The only work-around I was able to find is:

  1. Click A (green button) - this will bring up movie/show menu
  2. Pause the movie/show (optional, but if you do not pause it will continue playing even after you go to plex main menu if you do not pause)
  3. Click left → A - select playback settings (gear icon)
  4. Click B (red button) - this should take you to another menu
  5. Select “Go to Movie/Show/episode)” - this will take you out of the playback and back to main Plex interface

I really hope this will be fixed soon :frowning:

This should be fixed in a recent beta release 7.30.0. Give that a shot or wait for it to go public.

Awesome, I can confirm the “B” button works in my 7.30 beta. What still doesn’t work is the “trigger” buttons on the controller to skip forward/back like they used to. Instead there’s some weird time manipulation implemented with the shoulder buttons instead that make it harder to be accurate with choosing my place in the video – I don’t want to do math while skipping forward/back.
