Can't Handle High Bit Rate

I just set up PlexConnect and it isn't working well. For some reason it won't handle 1080p/40Mbps. I get severe stuttering. If I set the rate to 1080p/20Mbps it runs smoothly but still pauses every once in a while.

Everything is hard wired with gigabit ethernet. Using a Mac Mini Mid 2010. I know it's not the fastest computer, but it seems to be fast enough to stream 1080p to my Samsung Blu-Ray player and to an iPod at the same time without problems. So it doesn't seem to be the computer or the network. Seems like it's the aTV that's choking. I have an aTV3.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Phil

The ATV3 is rated at H264 High Profile 4.0, which is 25mbit.  It can't play back a full bluray remux.  The reason it pauses every once in a while when you set it to 20mbit is your Plex Server is re-encoding the video on the fly down to 20mbit(and it's not fast enough to decode and reencode in realtime) and your source content is more than 20mbit.

Makes sense. I guess I have to upgrade something in the chain.

Edit: I did a little test with Activity monitor and the CPU is, in fact, running pretty hard. The transcoder is running the CPU at 95%. Just can't handle the load.
