Can't install plex media server

So yeah, i installed a clean w10home on my computer today, did the windows update and tried to install plex media server. All i get is this:

Its even so fresh i havent installed a antivirus or anything.
Havent seen the error code on the forum before either.
Saw others asking for logfiles so here goes mine (couldnt upload attachments because im a new user).

Yes indeed my good sir i have, if you mean by rightclicking the install and selecting run as administrator yes.

That errror code suggest that something is broken with your windows installation. some suggest it’s an error because your .net install is version <4.7 . You could try the steps on this website:

otherwise, I’m afraid, a good old fresh install is in order. fingers crossed that you don’t have to do that!

Problem solved, i tried installing it with internet explorer instead of google chrome. To be honest, i didnt think it would matter which browser i used to install it, but it did, and it even launches with chrome now.
Thank you for your support though d_banta, i was 10 seconds from trying out your instructions. Thanks a lot.

Wait, what did you do? You don’t install PMS using a browser.

I used google chrome to download the install maybe 10 times and it didnt work. So i downloaded the install using internet explorer and it worked instantly. I didnt tamper with the computer at all between the different methods, like i said, its stupid but thats 100% what happened.

Ah ok. I have seen reports of browsers sometimes messing up the download. No reason that we’ve found so far, but it does happen. And it’s not specific to Chrome.
