I could use an explanation for this-
When I open Plex Media Player on my Mac (Mojave 10.14.4 [18E226]), no matter what I click on, Plex does not leave the home screen. The app tries to load what I click on but immediately comes back to the home screen! I’ve tried re downloading and it didn’t fix the issue!
I’ve had this problem for weeks, if not months now.
I have the latest plex server running on my synology, and I use google chrome on my mac to access plex.
Every single time I open plex it gets stuck on the home screen (Dashboard).
To fix the problem I have to sign out and then back into plex.
This solves the problem immediately, but I wish I knew what was causing this and how to fix it.
Just checking in to say I am having the same problem.
Running Media Server on a windows 10 PC, downloaded from plex themselves. This happens using the plex media player app (from plex as well) directly on the same PC. The only workaround for me has been to “open plex” from the media server icon in the task bar overflow, which just launches the web version of the app.
If I’m correct then I’m talking specifically about the web browser app.
I’m not sure what the difference is between what you refer to as plex media player and web browser app.
I assumed that they were the same thing.
I then end up on plex and at the top it says “Discover - All libraries” which is a drop down menu.
If I try to click on any of my libraries it just stays on this home page where it shows the last thing i was watching as well as other listed movies.
I am able to click on any of these and play them with no problem, but i’m not able to click on any of my libraries so that I can go to my photos or series or anything else.
Basically i’m stuck on this page until I sign out and then sign back in.
