So I have the Plex server up and running and linked to my LG in the living room with no issues. I was given a Vizio smart tv which we have in the bedroom and I can’t get it linked to the server. The tv is connected to the internet and it’s been updated. I can pull up the Plex app and when I click sign in, it says go to the tv link and enter this code, *****. As soon as I go to the link, Plex says I’m already signed and I can’t find anywhere to add a device or the code and when I look in authorized devices, it doesn’t show the Vizio, just the LG. What am I missing?
Make sure you’re going to the correct location, https://www.plex.tv/link/.
Use a browser on a laptop/desktop and disable any cookie/ad/etc blockers.
If you are already signed in, you will see the Link Account page. If not, you will see the Account Sign In page.
You might also try signing out of your account at plex.tv, then going to plex.tv/link.

I have a similar problem. My PLEX Server is running just fine and I can access it from my home TV. I recently added a Share for my sister who lives in another town. She has accepted my invitation and created an account. She can even get the Plex.tv/link screen to come up.
The problem is how do I trigger PLEX on the NVIDIA Shield to provide the 4 character code so that the new account is linked to my Server? Is this something that we did when we started PLEX? I did not tell it to create libraries because I do not want to run PLEX Server on the NVIDIA Shield, I want it to look to my Server.

Does your sister have the Shield or do you?
When you open Plex on the Shield, you can go into its Settings dialog and disable the server.
In the same settings dialog, you define into which plex.tv account the app shall login.
Make sure to pick your sister’s account (the same to which you shared your server.)
(you don’t link clients to a server – you link them to a plex.tv account)
We solved the problem. She created a new account when she accepted the invitation but used a different account when she started PLEX on the NVIDIA box. I told her to sign out of the account on the NVIDIA box and it provided the LINK code. Everything works as expected.
