Can't Link on Android app - Code not found or expired

Plex has been working fine on all my devices until this last one. I purchased a Nebula Mars II projector that comes with Android apps built-in. It has the option to download from either Aptoide or Google Play Store. When using the Plex app from Aptoide (older and outdated Plex app) it works fine, but when using the Google Play Store app for Plex (or updating to the latest version of the Plex app using Google Play Store) then you can no longer link to Plex. When I try to link using the Google Play Store version of Plex it says “Code not found or expired”. I tried uninstall, factory reset, different devices/browsers, using cellular vs wifi internet, etc.

The only way to fix it is to uninstall the Plex app entirely and then download the Plex app from Aptoide (which is an older version of Plex and outdated).

The Plex app works fine on my Smart TVs, Nvidia Shield, FireTV, etc. This is only happening on the Nebula Mars II device. Any idea how to fix this or what to try?

I have same issue with a Matricom Gbox, I had Plex installed and was working but did a uninstall (not sure why) and installed Plex client again, now I can’t link it.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, both from Google and Aptoide, same issue.

I see for other users who are reporting same issue in other forum articles, they did a device factory reset and that fixed issue, but I would rather avoid that as I will have to reinstall everything from scratch again.

Any recommended fix for this issue, and avoid full factory reset?

And used a quick solution till this issue is resolved, I added Plex addon to Kodi and managed to access my library through Kodi.

Still would like to use my Plex client directly, so a fix to the issue would be appreciated.

Just as an FYI, a factory reset did not fix the issue for me. Just wasted time unfortunately and lost all settings.

Thanks for letting me know. Will use Kodi for now till someone from Plex hopefully looks at the issue and issues a fix.

I just did a factory reset on my android box - a MXIII box - and now I cannot link Plex up. It keeps coming up with the “Code not found or expired” every single time. Tried different browsers, on phone where not on wifi (same network), typing the characters backwards (like some Hebrew posts helped people I saw online, though I’m just plain English). Went in to my device management under plex and removed the old added device.
Absolutely nothing works.

You need to roll back to v8.1.2

This is an issue from version 8.2.1 onwards. It wasn’t fixed in 8.3.0 either

You can no longer link an android box with a PIN code unless you are on v8.1.2

Is there a main thread for this issue? I am disappointed that this issue isn’t treated with more urgency.

I’m having the same problem with an Anker Nebula Max. My phone won’t accept the code the projector displays, no matter what I do. I wish I could at least just log in with my username and password, but I’m not given the option. So now I’m just stuck.
