Plex Link Code Not Working

Hi all,

I’m trying to sign in to my PMS on A new android device and the Plex.tv/link side always says “code not found or expired”. This has been going on all day. I can still access PMS since I’m already logged in on other devices but can’t connect this new one. I’m in Canada and using the newest version of the app.

I have the exact same problem allI the code give me

Code not found or expired error

I actually found a fix but had to factory reset twice unfortunately.

Same. Still not working.

has anyone found a solution?

i have seen this link on another thread: https://status.plex.tv and i read that in Jul 7, 2020 has been found an Issues logging in to plex.tv.
Any PLEX Employee can confirm that has been solved?
I continue to have problems

that issue on status page has nothing to do with link codes. Do you have a VPN or anything like that on your network?

I’m trying to connect my android device to my account with the plex.tv link but I always get the error of code not found or expired (I tried three times to enter the code each time new and instantly as soon as it appears on the screen…)
Firewall deactivated…i tried con EDGE, CHROME and MOZILLA…same result.

is your android on the same local network as computer you are entering code in, and not on guest wifi or anything like that. check that the first three octets of their ips match

do you have dns-rebinding preventions set on your router?

also what type of android device is this?

first of all…I solved it
meanwhile I answer your questions and then I tell you how I did it.
My Android box tv is on the same local network as computer, smartphone, smartTv, etc.
i haven’t dns-rebinding on my router and the PLEX app that i’m running on the box is 8.3.0
when i ran the app on the android box, first i tried to get the code link and it gave me the usual error
then I left the app with the mobile layout and before I tried to log in with my plex account and it still gave me an error; then I went back and tried to log in with my google account and incredibly the app accepted me. then I changed the layout from mobile to tv and had access to my PLEX / NAS library.
I don’t understand why it worked with google accounts and instead it didn’t work with PLEX accounts

This is an issue from version 8.2.1 onwards. You can no longer link an android box with a PIN code unless you roll back to v8.1.2

Can confirm works fine on my smart tv using built-in Plex app just fine. Only box giving me trouble is new Android 9 based TV box I hooked up currently running Plex v8.3.0.18912!
Guess will have to look up how to install older version of Plex app on my Android TV till they fix it since can’t think of any other workaround? Like there should be an option on your Plex server you’d think to verify it? If there is I don’t know about it?

Plex on PixoPix Max Not working either code not found… Really infuriating! Please fix!

Hi not sure if anyone saw my reply above. I’m the OP and I factory reset my android TV box (Dreamlink T3) two times and reinstalled Plex and then magically it worked. Not sure if this will work for anyone else but that was my “fix”.

Pretty extreme having to reset box once let alone 2x no thx will wait for fix hopefully!

Tested on Q-Box and also two TX3Mini boxes.

8.1.2 will link with a code but 8.2.1 & 8.3.0 will not
