I need something done as well, I can’t seem to log in via web app, can’t log into my server, can’t access any downloads on the webpage for apps or updates server versions on any browser. All Plex items have been removed and re-installed, and All browser cookies and cache have been deleted. Nothing seems to work on my server PC, all I get at every turn is 'Something Went Wrong" errors, and Try install Manually, and nothing works.
I’ve all but wiped out my PC and try to reinstall everything, but I hate to go that route when it seems like something so simple. Not sure why it’s this difficult.
@N8tallica I moved this from that certificate topic because it does not sound the same. What you are describing does not sound like a certificate issue. A cert issue with server would not affect the ability to log in.
I get a basic Plex home screen with the ‘working’ spinny in the middle. when I click ‘More’ on the left. I can see my Server name with the green lock icon, but it says "Server is unclaimed and not secure. My profile pic isn’t shown on the top right, and I can’t switch user or log out…also ‘Claim Server’ button does nothing when I click it.
Also cant log in on Plex.tv site or download anything (Server files or Apps) When I try to log in it says ‘oops something went wrong’
I did a Windows System Restore last night from back in January and it seems to have fixed whatever the problem was. I could now log in to plex.tv, download the newest PMS versions via the website, and I was able reclaim my server. So, I have NO idea what happened but aside from losing some of my ‘Collections’ information and some media matches here and there, all seems to be working as it should.
Not sure if you had reset anything or not, but it is now fixed and I have access to my server remotely as well.
Did you use a tool named like “Plex VPN Helper” (or similar) inbetween the system restore point and now?
Because there are many users with similar issues who used this software. It writes static IP adresses for plex server into the hosts file (which is never going to work reliably).
No Sir, I started with deleting everything Plex related, folders and registry entries and then did the Windows System Restore. Once I restarted PMS opened fine, had to reclaim (which it allowed this time) but prompted for updates to the latest version. After that, since I deleted my app data folders, I had to reassign all of my library folders (which wasn’t hard) and now I just have to redo my collections and some matches etc.
My problem was solved by using Windows System Restore. I went back a month and upon restarting everything began working as it should. May be helpful to someone. Pretty easy fix in my case.
