Can't login to Plex from localhost

Hi all,

I can’t seem to login to my Plex account when I’m using localhost (i.e. https://127.0.0.1) Plex Server for Windows interface. When I click “SIGN IN” I’m redirected to app.plex.tv and I see the Plex logo but that’s it. I never see a login form or anything else (I already have a Plex account).

On the other hand, if I launch Plex directly from your website, I’m able to login, but then I don’t see my local files.

That must be a typo. You can’t use HTTPS to access the local web client.

If the page is updating after seeing the logo, it means it’s having trouble accessing plex.tv. Check the browser console and see if there are any errors.

Thanks for your reply. Yes that was a typo.

I got it working with Microsoft Edge so it seems that Plex.tv is incompatible with Google Chrome. I saw a ton of errors in the JS console. I’ll be keeping an eye out for a fix!

I use Chrome so I don’t think it’s that. There may be some setting you have that doesn’t like the redirect between the local app and the authentication check back to plex.tv.
