Can't pause or FF/REV in certain files

I suddenly started noticing that I can't control the playback of some files. The interesting thing is that the reason seems to be Matroska wrapping, since MP4 (AVC+AAC) and AVI (XviD+MP3) files work just fine. I've tried the "white bar" fix (setting subtitles to off) but it didn't help. Any ideas how to fix this, or should I just wait for the next version?

Info about the files:

Matroska container

AVC 1280x720, at 23.976 fps, High@L4.1, CABAC / 5 Ref Frames

AC-3, 448Kbps, 48.0KHz, 16 bits, 6 channels

External SRT subtitles (forced transcoding because of these)

Running latest PMS on Win8, latest PlexConnect via Git on the same machine.

If you need any more details, just ask.

So do you see the "white bar"?

Yes, and there's no video duration visible, and the progress cursor doesn't move.

Turn of default subs in the Apple settings of the ATV, if you need to select them for non-Plex app media use the hold select method to bring up the subs menu.

Huh, that worked this time. I tried that before starting this thread without success, but this time it worked. Thanks for the quick replies, both of you :)

It does work most of the time for me. But sometimes I have to stop a movie/tvshow for it to work

Just an additional note: Netflix changes the system-wide subtitle language setting when I enable subs from the hold-select menu, so the problem reappears every time after wathing Netflix w/ subs.

Hmm.

I guess we will have to see what happens after the subs renderer is implemented.
