Can't play files with EAC Audio on Chromecast, iOS or Android

Hey everyone

I’m running Linux PMS 1.12.3.4947, and have found that files with EAC Audio (stereo or 5.1) won’t play on Chromecast, iOS or Android. The loading circle just keeps turning but nothing plays. Transcoding or Direct Stream/Play.

The same files play fine on Apple TV.

Attempted to play EAC file:
Time: 14-April @ 19:29
User: David P
Device: Pixel 2 XL

Shows up in PMS as “Transcoding EAC3 to AAC” but it just sits there. Nothing is transcoded, nothing plays.

I’ve tried deleting the Codecs folder on the server, this doesn’t work.

Fixed it using the following command

echo “fs.inotify.max_user_watches=65536” >> /etc/sysctl.conf
sysctl -p
