Your file has EAC3 audio. Unless your mobile devices has a dedicated EAC3 decoder, this won’t play. It’s not a native Android codec. In the Plex for Android app, go into the advanced player settings and disable the check box for EAC3 and try again.

Well ok, then. That would indicate that you’ve already told it not to try and play EAC3. Can you reproduce and get me the PMS logs?

A strange thing: The files will play natively on TV with dlna, but not on Plex on same TV.

The DLNA player is doing things the Plex app is not capable of, namely software decoding. Plex can’t do that through the Chromecast.

I don’t know. You haven’t provided me the PMS logs I asked for so I can check.

The Chromecast can support EAC3 passthrough if it detects that the TV it’s connected to supports that.

You’ve disabled it for mobile so it shouldn’t be using it there and should get transcoded. But I can’t tell without logs.
