There was a forced xbox one update today. Gui has been completely reworked I see, but I keep getting ‘server unavailable’ issues.
My server (windows 10 machine) has been updated to version 1.9.4.4325
I did not enable remote access (local network should suffice, worked before)
I had to re-login from the xbox app, using the link code.
I tried optimising the library, restarting the xbox one, restarting the server, nothing works.
Btw it finds the server name, but keeps insisting the server is offline or unreachable (continuously retrying).
This is a bummer, hope resolution to this issue comes soon, we use plex daily over here. Would be a pity to have to abandon it.
Same here. Everything was working fine until yesterday. Today the app was updated and can’t connect to my server anymore, although it can find the server name.
Just had this issue myself, go to settings on the plex app and go down to the “Manual Servers”, do the same on PC and you can put in your IP and port there, this fixed it for me.
Hmm
Unlikely to work if you don’t have a fixed ip address I think
Also the ‘manually specify public port’ option is greyed out for me.
Note I didn’t enable remote access,
perhaps useful is that if I expand advanced settings I can see
Private Unknown IP Public Unknown IP Internet
Same thing here. I run local only. I had seen that I was able to connect previously if I enabled unsecure connections. But I am not seeing that option in this version .
Server version 1.9.2.4285
Plex app version 2.0.1.6 Xbox Platform version: 10.0.16299.3031
It’s not a dns rebounding issue. Broke out a 10 year old $5 Linksys router and have same problem. Only way the system works is with manual IP address in settings. Also the old app worked with secure enabled.
Luckily my plex server is on a hyperv machine with manually set IP but most users are screwed
@kingshillbilly Okay can I ask you (or any other users affected here) to enable logging in the app (User Menu -> Settings -> Privacy -> Log to server), close the app and force quit it, start it again and then grab the server logs and send them my way?
@Moussa if I go to settings - privacy - and enable log to media server, the setting does not stick. After force quitting the app and relaunching it goes back to being disabled.
@catellopizzo - and everyone else affected - go to settings in the upper right next to the plex logo and choose manual servers. Enter the ip address of your plex server there.
Hopefully they can fix this issue soon.
Also for this to work the computer or device running plex server needs to have a manually entered IP or eventually it will break. Consult documentation or Google how to set your up address manually on your computer
@kingshillbilly Okay instead enable logging, then in the user menu go to Media Servers and select the server you’re having issues with to trigger a connection test. Make sure you’ve removed the server from the manual servers list so you can no longer connect.
@Moussa I only have the one server… If I take out the ip, it says that it’s unavailable (screenshot) when I put the manual ip back in the same server says nearby with a green icon
