Hi,
I’m having some trouble playing certain video files. I tried uninstalling Plex and reinstalling it (claiming the server by token) which worked. During the startup of the server an error was displayed saying that a core component was malfunctioning.
Can you please help me solve this issue? I can’t figure out what may be wrong.
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for this information. This is exactly what I already did before posting. The SHA1 Hash was correct. I uninstalled my existing version (choosing to Sign out and keep the data), I then restarted by Synology NAS and reinstalled the package. I used the Token to retrieve my server.
I can try doing this again but I don’t see why it would be different the second time. Are there any other ideas maybe?
Thanks!

I did what you suggested.

  1. I first reapplied all permissions to the “/volume1/video/movie” (in Shared Folder and in File Station. I left this in the old location as a test, to see if the move makes a difference.
  2. I created a new Shared Folder called Media. In it I created a subfolder called “Series”. I moved all my series from “/volume1/video/TV show” to “/volume1/Media/Series”.
  3. I applied the permissions in both Shared Folder and File Station for “/volume1/Media/Series”.

I’m starting to suspect that there may be a problem with the video file format that I’m trying to view because I tried playing something else and it worked.

Here are the (hopefully) relevant parts of the File Info:

Does anything here look “suspicious”? Also, here’s a current Log Dump:

Thanks for your help. Problem solved. Removed Plex, deleted all permissions, restarted everything, reinstalled Plex, readded the permissions, recreated the library and it works now.
