Can't play video on Shield, but ok on other devices

Something odd happened last night. I can’t play any of the DVR files on my Nvidia Shield from the Shield TV’s PLEX, but I can access the files from any other device in my home or outside of my network. I reinstalled PLEX on the Shield TV, I’ve cleared the buffer, I’ve rebooted the Shield, but nothing helps. Is there anything else for me to try?

Same issue, it just happened overnight. I have lost access to everything, but only on my Shield TV. Error message: “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check you connection and try again.” So…I guess I’m done with using Plex?

@duck-king I found a solution with the following. Let me know if it works for you.

  1. Main Shield Home Screen
  2. Apps->Google Play Store
  3. Look for Plex Media Server and run the update or just update all like I did
  4. Restart the Shield from the menu
  5. Now the latest Plex client works on the Shield

Why isn’t PMS updated automatically?
