Can't reach PMS on Synology 916+

this is all lan for me too. 172.31.100.x space.
static on Synology. AppleTV is DHCP. Mac is DHCP. Windows VM is static. All had issues with accessing the PMS. However I could still connect to 32400 on command line… just nothing came back.
DNS is using Synology router… which is pointing to OpenDNS resolvers.

Synology showed the process running. Restarted it was no help. Upgrade from 1.18.1 to 1.18.2 didn’t solve it. Issue started on the 1.18.1 upgrade.

And issue seemed to trigger on loss of network in the logs.

I rebooted my Synology this morning… and this cleared all the issues. Watching videos now on the TV via AppleTV.

NOW I see it.

For some very strange reason, Synology did not install the package correctly.

Stop PMS
Uninstall the package
Restart DSM
While it’s restarting , Go download a fresh copy using a different browser just to be safe.
When it returns, Install the freshly downloaded one.

before un-installing PMS and re-installing it. just want to verify that by doing so, the /Plex folder will be safe and I’m not going to loose my database(s) for watched and on-deck etc

can you also point to the log message that showed you the issue? right now I’m assuming it’s the logs after it freaked out that just kept repeating over and over again.

Yes, uninstalling the application Package will not remove your metadata. I wrote the installer and did it this way so your data does stay safe.
@trmentry Do I still have your logs? I am looking but cannot find them. If I had them, I’ve most likely deleted them as I do not find them here.

I didn’t attach my logs to the thread. Just the snippets I quoted in the few posts of interesting entries.

Thanks again for the help. I’ll work on the uninstall/reinstall this weekend after my shift.

This fixed the same problem I had on my DS216se that started after I simply shut it down for a few weeks while I was away -_-
