Can't refresh Metadata

Updated Plex a week or so ago - the same day I updated my Synology NAS. I am able to log in and play music or films, however, I cannot update the metadata - it says I’m not authorised - even on the NAS intself - update bug?

I’ve triggered a fresh server certificate for you. Please stop and restart your Plex server.

If that doesn’t change anything, see #15 in here: Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and How-To's

Hi - nothing changed.. Removing and re-installing seems a bit worrying though…

Hi I tried reinstalling but when I go to CLAIM it will not let me - tried the private browser as requested

So I followed the instruction and now I am worse off - no external access.. please help

Which model NAS?

Current DSM version?

Did you recently update DSM? If so, what was the previous DSM version?

Based on the error message you posted, it appears the NAS cannot communicate with plex.tv, which would prevent claiming the server.

Here’s some items to check. They’re written for DSM 7. DSM 6 will be similar.

Network Settings

  • Synology Control Panel → Network → Network Interface tab → Edit the network interface
  • Verify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway are correct.

DNS Settings

  • Synology Control Panel → Network → General tab.
  • Configure the NAS to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

Synchronize NAS with NTP server

  • Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time tab
  • In Time Setting section, chose Synchronize with NTP Server
  • Pick a server from the drop down list, then click Update Now.
  • You should see Status = Normal.
