Can not claim server

Hello,

I am not a technology expert.

I am having issues with my Plex server on my synlogoy device basically I get a error message that I can not claim my server in addition my media will load up but the metadata will not load nor can I referesh.

Please advise!

Which version of DSM do you have installed ?

When you can’t claim the server or get metadata , it’s an indication of:

  1. PMS can’t talk to Plex.tv (meaning a Synology work setting needs fixing)
  2. Possible corruption in the DB but #1 above is far more common.

It is DSM 7.1.1-42962 update 4

I have tried deleting and reinstalling several times but it has not helped.

I am also unable to claim the server

DSM 7 has the “Plex Claim Token” installation method.

This method claims the server for you (you give it a claim token)
during the installation.

If the Syno can communicate with Plex.tv then it’s attached to your account as soon as installation is complete.

you only need open it by http://lan.ip.of.syno:32400/web the firs time to complete initial setup.

This How-To shows reclaiming an existing server but works either way.

No dice on that, the link wont work and when I used those steps I could not find the NAS only my local drives.

Could it have been impacted if I had chosen previously to had deleted all of Plex from the drive?

Would I resolve if I were to reset the Synology Drive?
