Can't stream HEVC files since updating the server!

That is probably a question to ask google for details…

Basically…

* Enable `allow untrusted Apps` somewhere in the TV settings (Security & Restrictions I think)
* Download an app that can read the USB stick (I use X-plore File Manager)
* Download the correct 8.11 apk from the Android TV release Thread (I use the armv7 for my sony)
* Copythe file to a USB Stick
* Uninstall the current Version on your TV
* Insert USB Stick into TV,
* Use X-plore File Manager to Install Version from USB stick
* Turn off Auto Update Apps in TV

But it appears they have pulled 8.12.2 and are working on a fix ASAP

Back to Normal after 8.12 of the Android TV App was pulled from Play store and now with 8.11

Everything direct plays on my TV (PGS subs included)!

Engineering has asked for a sample of the any file you have which has playback problems with 8.12.2 application version.

Can you create a 1-2 minute sample ?

same issue here. Used to direct play all x265 files to my Google TV (new chromecast). Since server update 1.21.2.3943 it either won’t play, or play extremely choppy with static in the sound.

Server or Android apk issue?

I checked with the team leader last night.

Is it possible to get a sample file?

They know of some issues with 8.12.2 (well, more than just a few… haha) and have fixed a bunch (8.13 is in testing now)

I’ve been asked to collect any samples which show errors. which the PMS logs can’t show.

That said,

  1. Please verify DEBUG logging ON, VERBOSE logging OFF
  2. Start a playback attempt
  3. If it starts, let it run until fail (or 1 minute max)
  4. After stop/fail, wait 20 sec for the logs to flush
  5. Download the logs ZIP file
  6. Attach that ZIP file here.
