Can't update my premium music library, " This server cannot reach the Internet"

You really need to ask “me” what version? Latest, greatest plex pass version which is Version 0.9.16.0

At least 3 or 4 Days to your second question since last starting Plex.

I just have to ask !

So this sounds like the dynamic switching of pubsub servers does not work very well - may be the frequency of the checks is not right. Or may be it does not switch all the time after failures.

Do you still have the server log files - would be interested in seeing all lines that refer to EventSource or pubsub

Don’t know if this is any help or not but I have Music set not to scan unless I manually add to it since it’s rather large.
Wait, how? That setting was removed some time ago. Everything should get scanned now.

My Bad,

Yea, your right. I hadn’t even noticed it was gong. Let me re-phase: “I used to have it set that way”

Carlo

Sheeze, don’t know how I missed it. How long has it be gone for?

I see both 0 and 1 interspersed in the log for pubsub: Get notified of reachabiltiy
EventSource looks good. No connectivity issues. All got events have my IP and port shown properly.

With that said, this was the VERY FIRST time I have ever experienced this. Let’s not worry about it unless we see more of this popping up. Could just be a router down on the net or something similar that caused my server to not “phone home” properly.

I’ll try manually refreshing a few times over the weekend and I’ll grab log files and send them to you as well as try some tracerts, etc if I see any problems.

FYI i just had this happen to my music library. Using the answer, posted at top, fixed this issue for me.

What version of Plex Media Server was running at the time? And do you still have the log files?
All files with names starting Plex Media Server within the Logs folder?
If you do, please zip and attach with indication of the time when the problem arose

Just happened again. Havent fixed it yet. I dont think i have the logs set up… I’ll check. Possibly pointing my finger at my vpn.

Version 0.9.16.4

I sent you logs in a private message!
Thanks!

May be you are losing internet connection or DNS functionality
The Plex Media Server.log with debug logging enabled would show that - best to restart the server after enabling debug logging

The server checks internet connectivity by establishing a connection to one of the pubsub servers returned in the xml response to this request
