Capabilities of Plex App on TV's

The client I am using now is an Asrock Beebox Intel® Quad-Core Processor N3150 (Up to 2.08GHz) with Plex Media Player, my files are mp4. I am looking at a new 43 inch TV, would the Plex app on any of the current TV’s be able to replace the Beebox without losing any functions or quality. (I only use it for Plex). The Server has an AMD Phenom 2 X4 955 CPU on an old AM3 board. I am totally bemused by the TV specs, so if I can get rid of the Beebox which TV manufacturer has the best offering of TV and DVR (UK Freeview)/DVD recorder/player suitable for Plex. Panasonic, Sony, Samsung or LG?
I just want to make the system as simple as possible.

Sony, it is Android TV.

That said I would never buy a TV for smart functionality. I have a Vizio P (2016), absolutely stunning display and their “smart” features are a tablet and a Chromecast 4K built into the TV. I only use it if I watch a 4K video of mine. Otherwise I use an Apple TV. Devices will always be more powerful, last longer and work better.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I need to find out somehow what the Plex Tv app is like before I make a decision.

Here are a few links for you

What media formats are supported by the different TV’s

And of course the plex.tv site link:

Now for the TV running Android TV the screens look a bit different

They vary by model and manufacturer. In my experience, they are fairly dumbed down clients and share a low common denominator. If the app works well for you, consider it a bonus, not a feature.
