This problem still exists on Linux Player Version 1.55.0.3278-c6164b3c. It was previously reported on 1.45.0.3017-e5c724f3.
This is frustrating for my hearing impaired wife! We have default captions ON for playback. When playing a DVR recording in TV Shows, the player comes up saying captioning is ON, but it doesn’t show any captions until we go to Settings and turn captions OFF and ON again (toggle state)…every time.
Kindly fix in the next release.
