Captions in some movies of late, start to play immediately - out of sync.

I’ve a Synology NAS that has well over 1000 movies in .mov, .mkv and .mv4 wrappers. The good news 99% of these play captions/subtitles as expected.

Of late however, some movies, using the same recording process (as always) of embedding .srt files into the media file, the caption/subtitles start to play as the movie starts, rather than when the dialog starts. I have looked everywhere to see why this happens and have found no information as to why this might be happening. Anyone else run into this problem or know how to resolve? Doesn’t matter the wrapper - very perplexing. Help.

If you can provide a sample of one of the MKVs which has a problem, I will gladly take a look at it.

About 15-20 MB will be more than sufficient.

I am experiencing the same problem. How can one edit the external SRT file? That is to say, the external files come from OpenSubtitles.org. I know I can download the files, but after editing, how would I get PMS to see the edited file. I will try to upload a segment of one of the shows here. I have only looked at a handful of movies, but so far all of them have the problem.
