When I first discovered Plex, I liked it because I could “cast” my media library music to my Roku TV. Essentially like a remote control (my desktop) to the music playing on the TV. I have the Plex app on the Roku TV. I recall needing to have the Plex app on the Roku TV started in order to receive the “cast” from the desktop. (i don’t think that’s technically “Chromecast”, but i put that tag there regardless)
I can control my Plex media server from the Roku TV remote control, but I don’t want to do it that way. I want to control it from the desktop so I can see and manage the queue etc while i’m sitting here coding.
I don’t understand why it doesn’t work anymore. I can’t fathom what I must have forgot, or maybe that’s simply not an option anymore?
I should note that I can “see” the Roku TV playing from my Desktop if I go to the “Dashboard”, but I can’t assume control of it, as I recall doing in the past from the PC desktop. Also, I have tried and failed from both Linux and Windows desktops.
