I got HDHomeRun Duo hooked to antenna. Live TV in plex works fine if I watch on the computer, the guide downloaded, everything seems fine there.
All containers, firmware, windows, are updated and current.
As soon as I try to Cast to TV (using Edge), it says “Something went wrong” on the TV screen. I can cast all of my other Plex content, and even other Plex Channels, but not content from the HDHomeRun.
What’s wrong?
How to debug it?
If you use Chrome does it do the same?
Yes, I tried from another computer, and also using Chrome.
Which model Chromecast is it?
It is built in to a Vizio TV. In the menus it says 1.50

First, how do I upload my logs securely? I see other threads where they are attached and they are accessible by public.
Second, I’ve got another problem now. I noticed the guide info was not being updated, and I read somewhere to delete and re-add the tuner. I have removed the tuner, but now it can’t be found on the network in Plex. Apparently it stored the data and won’t “re discover” now. Someone mentioned deleting some tv.plex.provider info but that is not present, it must be inside the DB. I tried to optimize database and restart but no luck so far. I do have ad blockers which may be blocking the guide (i tried adding plex.tv to exclude list), but nonetheless I can’t get the tuner added back as of yet.

Those are the epg database files. They are in the The PMS data folder in appdata appdata/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases/ and there are three files starting with tv.plex.provider.epg...
I was unable to find the tv.plex.provider files in the Plug-in Support/Databases folder. I am running Plex on Synology DSM Container Manager (Docker) if that makes a difference. My current issue is not being able to add the tuner back into Plex.
I’ve fixed the issue. I decided to try adding a month of Plex Pass. But it should not be required to watch Live TV with an external tuner? Based on my understanding, Plex Pass should only be needed to RECORD Live TV. So am not sure if that was the problem. I’m not sure why it let me add the tuner a few weeks ago, unless policies changed recently? And also Cast live TV suddently works too. Is Plex Pass now required to use a TV Tuner, and was it a recent change? I can’t explain why I was able to add the tuner before, and not re-add it later, when I did not have Plex Pass.
I also found a setting in my Docker YAML which was preventing HW transcoding, and my NAS is not powerful enough to do sw transcode without it. So I needed it regardless.
I think this is a known bug. Sounds a lot like the problem in this thread
