Cast your vote for plugins

I agree on the myopia and greediness of the industry. But you can always ask, at least I do. Both at Plex and NBA/Qobuz/etc. If it can be made for NHL it surely can be made for NBA. And if something could be made (unofficially) for Kodi it could be made (unofficially) for Plex.

Definitely. I’d look in the 3rd party plugins and see if anyone has mentioned one of them. Also it’s good to routinely check github as there are always folks building new add-ons for Plex and they don’t always mention them on the forums.

Google Play Music
Amazon Prime Video

Google Music is available via the unsupported app store. It’s listed in the channels section and the 3rd party plugin list.
It also looks like someone created a new one on Github that may be worth trying.
There was an official amazon plugin a long time ago until Amazon killed it. Probably worth looking into seeing if an ‘unofficial’ plugin was made.

Clean support and integration into the main media of a dvr/live-TV program on most server platforms/Linux (like TVheadend, Mythtv, … (something that supports DVB-T2/ DVB-C2/DVB-S2)
Spotify support

+1
Now that there is a DVR update, it is time for a build in TVheadend support.

  1. Automatic downloading of subtitles, its never worked :frowning:
  2. Stream audio to connected devices e.g iphones on the same network as the plex server. This would enable the ability to listen to audio wirelessly via headphones.

There is a lot of back and forth about movies, netflix, etc and what I see is this:
I can watch the NBC channel with limited functionality but I can watch the NBC channel on my Roku where I can log in with my TV Provider and have full access. Same is true on my smart TV.

Why can’t plex have a login feature for channels to have full access? That would make it able to be universally accessed as a single source provider and I would not have to sign into 25 channels on my TV, Roku, Fire TV, etc.

Now, what I really would like to see is support for Audiobooks and Books with goodreads as a datasource and ibdb. An Alexa App is second on my list since she is my new girlfriend.

NHL.TV plugin would be great. I use the Official one for the Apple TV but a plugin would be great so I have one app for everything.

A PseudoTV type functionality would be my number one request for PLEX.

Not sure how far the playlist support for PLEX has progressed, but getting my local library the same way cable TV is presented would be the single most desirable feature for me.

Tablo Channel Plug-In - “Could Not Connect to your Tablo”

For most of 2016, the Tablo Channel Plug-In worked fine. Then in the fall, it stopped. I have searched for solutions on both the Plex and Tablo forums and found none. I have tried a variety of potential fixes, re-installs, IP override, deleting preferences, etc. None seem to work. Plex Players on my local network report the failure to connect with the message “Could Not Connect to your Tablo”.

A typical discussion of the problem is here.

When it was working, the Plex channel provided remote access to the Tablo that was more reliable than Tablo’s own apps. To establish remote access from a device and player using the Tablo apps, the device and player must FIRST be used on the LOCAL network. There is no way to initially establish remote access to the Tablo from a remote location. Ditto, reestablishing broken remote connections.

I sure would like to see the Tablo Plug-In get a little love to fix this problem.

Subtitle fetching and download

Already exists, look for “opensubtitles” in your “agent” settings on the server.

Audiobook support would be great!

We definitely need ebook support!

Amazon Prime please

Since none of my audio streams are encoded properly, the only way to get subtitles to download is to turn them on for everything. It works be nice if the OSD has a “Get Subtitles” fetch button for on the fly Subtitle downloads.

Sorry wrong place

Fix the iPhoto Plug-in to work, allowing Apple Photos App or iPhoto App

Vevo would be great!

Amazon, NBC via cable login etc are likely never going be on Plex in an official capacity. Plex is one of the last places they would allows their content to be made available.

A Tidal plugin would be great.
