Cast your vote for plugins

Personally, I would like to see some sort of scrobbling support that's builtin.

By which, I mean that songs recently listened to can be sent last.fm and shows/movies watched can be sent to trakt.tv. I know there is a trakt.tv plugin (in the Unsupported Appstore), but it simply reads the log and is ultimately not the most natural or efficient way to accomplish this. So, some way for developers to wait for music or video events of different types (either via direct notification from the app generating the video or music, and/or through the Plex Server sending these notification) and then be able to scrobble them.

You should probably post this separately in the Feature Request Forum rather than in a thread dedicated to channel plugin requests.

-Update Oct 5th, 2013- (as noted in the OP)

The NHL channel (for GameCenter subscribers) is currently awaiting approval for the Channel Directory. In the meantime, it's available via the Unsupported Appstore. Since it's ready and (essentially) released into the wild, I'm removing it from the voting options.

  • Flixster
  • Cinema Now
  • Ultraviolet
  • Google Play
  • Pandora (not needing pandora one)
  • Get plugins working on Samsung Bluray Players

Could we have a plugin for NBA pass ?

TiVo plugin needs to work. TiVo says they will offer remote streaming some day but I think a working Plex plugin will be more reliable – by far.

WatchESPN seems to be the number one (because of sports obviously) requested/searched for "alternative"/solution for new (and veteran) US-based cord cutters. I myself spent $60 bucks and repurposed an old machine just to get PlayOn to work so I could get an older version of ESPN (ESPN3 specifically) to work so I can watch college football. It doesn't even have all the games available through ESPN's newer service, WatchESPN. Long story short, some of these services/channels could be touted as PlexPass-only, as to get more subscribers.

Though, I've been toying with the idea of getting an Ouya or G-box MX2 so I can run the android version of Plex and use the android WatchESPN app. Having it all within Plex would be amazing.

My first vote since joining PlexPass.

Give Australia some Love - I voted for "ABC iView Australia"

Thanks for the oppurtunity

Cheers Rob.

I'm missing subsonic support(?) Or is that not a "thing" people would want?

Subsonic would be great but a little redundant surely?

  1. Netflix
  2. Amazon
  3. Hulu

What are people doing these days for Netflix?  The Plex plugin is so problematic, my family is begging me to get a separate AppleTV just to switch to when they want to watch Netflix.

IP Camera Monitor would be awesome!

I would like to voice a new subtitle plugin (perhaps using Subliminal? I find the current opensubtitles plugin to be unreliable..) That you can set to automatically grab subtitles as PMS scans new media (but also try and download subtitles for movies/series which are missing)

Benefits of using Subliminal would be that it has its own providers that it interacts with (see here), it can search using video hash (for exact match), actively maintained.

Shouldn't be too hard for a seasoned python dev...

from babelfish import Language
from datetime import timedelta
import subliminal

configure the cache

subliminal.cache_region.configure(‘dogpile.cache.dbm’, arguments={‘filename’: ‘/path/to/cachefile.dbm’})

scan for videos in the folder and their subtitles

videos = subliminal.scan_videos([’/path/to/video/folder’], subtitles=True, embedded_subtitles=True, age=timedelta(weeks=1))

download

subliminal.download_best_subtitles(videos, {Language(‘eng’), Language(‘fra’)}, age=timedelta(week=1))

Using a ChromeCast. Just open Netflix on the iPad and POOF, put it on the TV. Now, with Hulu and Plex too! :D

I have Amazon Instant Video running through the Xbox, along with WMC8. This also runs Netflix and Hulu, but I prefer the tactile experience of using the tablet. It really all depends on where I am in the interfaces too.

What I want, above all else, is support for live video feed. Coaxial/RCA/HDMI input cards are very widely available now, and there's PCI-E slots in my Poweredge just itching to be filled. I'm forced to pay for cable tv as it is bundled with my internet package, and I might as well use it for local news channels.

Not to mention the IP camera system could be added in the same code, a dozen different ways.

Is this the right forum to ask for a PseudoTV-like plugin? It would be nice to select a "PseudoTV" style option where I get random TV shows one after the other, while not updating my watched/unwatched status. For those times where you just want the TV on, but don't specifically want to watch anything.

Cheers.

i would also put my vote for:

dreamfilm.se
swefilmer.com

two sites that streams movies and series with swesub and kids movies with swedish speech.

thanks!
